A key feature of this dataset is that individuals were asked about their parents’ education level. We thus observe parent-child links even when parents and children live in different households, WebIndia. Through appropriate cohort analysis, w- e find that there is still a high degree of intergenerational persistence in education. However, the same is decreasing steadily over time.
